Merwin Ernest Beckwith, 92, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Tye Cemetery, in Burleson. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home.
Merwin was born December 10, 1924 in Cuyler, New York, to Ernest and Gertrude (Owens) Beckwith. He and Jean were married on August 17, 1945, in Norwich, New York. They were married for 64 years before her passing. He retired from General Dynamics in Ft. Worth. His hobbies included woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren, and spreading the word about Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dixie Jean (Hardgrove) Beckwith; and daughter, Toni Beckwith Landers.
Survivors include his sons, Steve Beckwith and wife, Carey, of Burleson, and Stuart Beckwith and wife, Dana, of Kingsland; son-in-law, Wayne Landers, of Burleson; grandchildren, Kevin Landers and wife, Yvonne, Kurt Landers and wife, Misti, Kristi Mayers and husband, Rus, Jeremy Beckwith and wife, Leah, Callie Jones and husband, Josh, Jason Beckwith and wife, Elizabeth, Stephanie Beckwith, Dustin Lewis and wife, Sammi, and Lauren Beckwith; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madison and Maleigha Landers, Mason Landers, Makenzie Mayers, Ian and Alex Beckwith, Kinley, Karis, and Kooper Jones, Henry Beckwith, Skylar and Paige Lewis; great-great-grandchildren, Brayleigh Landers; brother, E.A. Beckwith, of Crowley; twin sister, Merie Kenyon, of McDonough, New York; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
