Shirlee Roberts Hughes, 79, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, in Weatherford, Texas.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury. Interment will follow at Granbury Cemetery, Granbury. Visitation is 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at the funeral home.
Shirlee was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Squaw Creek, Texas, to Thomas and Fern Williams. She was a talented floral designer and was very artistic. Shirlee enjoyed sketching and painting. She excelled as a seamstress who made her own clothes as well as wedding dresses for members of the family. Shirlee was a wonderful grandmother and mother. She was the definition of a mother’s love and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Louise Copeland.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Hughes; sons: Ronnie Roberts and wife, Carla, and Dirk Roberts and wife, Sheila; stepsons, Larry Hughes and wife, Lori, Leland Hughes and wife, Tracy, Dale Hughes and wife, Diane, and Dean Hughes and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Rocky Hobbs, Michael Hawk and wife, Kasie, Dusty Roberts and fiancée, Lacy Robertson, and Jeremy Roberts; great-grandchildren. Presley Hawk, Brody Thorton and Blakely Hawk; sister, Nelda Holloway; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
