William R. Mapes, of Alvarado, was born Nov. 21, 1930, and died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mapes and Lilian Mapes; and one son, William Raymond Mapes Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Louise Greer Mapes; two daughters, Deborah Susan Henson and husband, Jerry, and Sandra Gail Neal and husband, Ricky; three sons, Robert Walter Mapes and wife, Teresa, John David Mapes and wife, Marilyn, and Donald James Mapes and wife, Keri; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
