08/16/77 – 01/23/2018

On August 16, 1977, not only did this world lose a star (Come on people Elvis Presley), BUT it gained an even bigger one, Matthew Allen Harris, in the most infamous Muskogee, Oklahoma. His HUGS always made everything better, his jokes made everyone laugh, and his shoulders could hold more tears than a 5 gallon bucket. Matt was the size of a GIANT with the heart to match, and, if needed, intimidation. Many memories we all have include him and laughter that turns into happy tears. His willingness to drop everything and help others was almost a fault, from helping someone move, an ear to listen, to taking his nephews food just because they asked. Matt’s heart was so valuable to so many; gone too soon is an understatement. He always saw the good in everyone and would leave kind words randomly via text or FB messenger. Not only was he all these things but also pretty amazing at Karaoke, along with beating just about anyone and everyone in a friendly game of pool.

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, God took his special star back. Apparently 40 years is as long as he could stay. He will be missed TONS by his Mom and Dad, John and Paula Harris; sister, Cyrena Brewer and husband/close friend, Bryan; nephews who adored him and will miss him dearly, Kainen and Korbin Brewer and, of course, his sweet giant puppy, Boomer; too MANY loved ones to mention everyone, but he loved them all dearly, from aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and maybe a few exes. He loved his family with all his heart, each and every one of them, and I know he had a special place in their hearts to match.

Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 26, 2018.

Mountain Valley Funeral Home, in Joshua, handled the arrangements. 817-426-3200
