Nelda Rae Briley, 83, of Burleson, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at her residence in Burleson.
A service to celebrate Nelda's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, Trxas. The family will receive friends in the coffee room of the funeral home after the services. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org/donate.
She was born August 3, 1935, in Longview, to Jack and Elizabeth Ophelia McGinnis. Mrs. McGinnis worked for the Burleson School District as a teacher's aide. She married Barney Joe Briley June 10, 1953. He preceded her in death November 12, 2007. Mrs. Briley is survived by her sons, Tony Briley and his wife, Annie Lou, of Colleyville, and Joe Briley and his wife, Carmen, of Anna, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
