WILLIAM “DARREL” PARKS

William “Darrel” Parks, 80, passed away at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2016, at Huguley Hospital.

Funeral services were Friday, July 8, 2016, at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Clements officiating. Interment followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park on Crowley Road.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerrod Parks, Justin Parks, Stevie Parks, Dylan Parks, Wayne Parks, Jeremy Ibarra, Ricky Rudolf and Bob Sherrill.

Memorials may be made to Lane Prairie Baptist Church.

William Parks was born June 30, 1936, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Robert and Johnnie Belle Enos Parks. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1957. On Nov. 4, 1955, William married Vera Streater in Fort Worth.

In 1962, Mr. Parks was employed by Buddies Grocery Store. Later, he worked at Skaggs Alpha Beta and at Parks Produce.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Johnnie Bell Parks; his wife of 50 years, Vera Streater Parks, who died in June of 2006; brother, Harrel Parks; and sisters, Pauline Webster, Dean Johnson, Lou Ott and Mickey Clayton.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Parks and wife, Cindy, Lori Halfmann and husband, Duane, and Steve Parks and wife, Barbara, all of Burleson, and Shari Parks, of St. Mary’s, Ohio; siblings, Robert Parks, and wife, Betty, of Fort Worth, Peg Klopfenstein, of Arlington, and Nell Story and husband, David, of Erwin, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
