Vera Lee Ingram, dedicated mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.
     The service celebrating her lifewas 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Greenwood Chapel. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, in Greenwood Chapel.
     Vera was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, on Sept. 19, 1928. After graduation from high school, she joined her sister, Viola, in Galveston and began her long-term career with the Corps of Engineers. She met and married Henry Lincoln Ingram in 1952. They made their home in Fort Worth and raised their family in south Fort Worth. After Henry's death in 1975, Vera returned to school and earned her associate degree from TCJC in 1983, attending classes after work. She was especially proud of this accomplishment. Vera and Henry were founding members of Polytechnic Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth.
     Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Christmas and spent months preparing personal gifts and themes for each Christmas season. Vera gathered her extended family each Christmas Eve for celebrations that touched the lives of all who attended.
     Vera was a master gardener and loved her flowers and yard. She enjoyed countless hours each year making it special.
     Regardless of the destination, Vera loved to travel and enjoyed any trip.
     Vera was the perfect example of a person that always looked at life as an adventure and chance for spreading happiness and enjoying each day to its fullest. She will be missed by all.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lincoln Ingram.
     Vera will be missed by her devoted partner and the light of her life, John Richerson. John has been her constant companion for many years.
     Survivors include her children, Sheila Ingram Brown, Steven Ingram, Patty Ingram Witte, and Hal Ingram; grandchildren, Allison Ingram Yokubaitis, John Ingram, Mike Witte, Pam Witte Hess, Adriana Shumake Dickinson, and Austin Ingram; and great-grandchildren, Tori Benson, Grace, Charlie, and Tyler Yokubaitis, and Reagan Lee Ingram.
