Mary Louise Cowen passed away at the age of 87 on Dec. 23, 2016, at the Community Hospice House.
At her request, there will be no service.
A longtime resident of Burleson and First President of the BETA SIGMA PHI Chapter in Burleson, Mary Cowen was born in Lonoke, Arkansas, to Edna Miller and William Thomas Reed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Virgil A. Croft (Ben), and John W. Cowen; a daughter, Jeanne Hunt; son-in-law, Billy Hunt; two sisters, Lou Jeffcoats and Anna G. Reed, and grandson Scott Fair.
Survivors include her children, Mike Cowen and wife, Michele, Kay Fair and husband, Rusty, and Leslie O’Hara, all of Burleson; brother, Bill (Kerin) Reed, of Wake Village, Texas, sister, Dorothy Oliver, of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Bryan, Adam, Christy, Kalee and Cody; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lacy, Kolton, and Kaydan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
